Socialite and hotel heiress Paris Hilton cannot keep herself out of the headlines. We all know what she does best. She is a sheer professional when it comes to being arrested for illegal drugs. The concept of what the word illegal, as in illegal substances, implies has evidently escaped her. She got busted for possession of cocaine in Las Vegas. You have to be doing something fairly clear if that happens. This is her 3rd narcotic arrest in as numerous months. She has already been arrested twice for possession of marijuana.
Not a soul implied to Paris Hilton that it was ok to do substances in public
Paris Hilton was evidently cruising the Las Vegas strip, driven by her boyfriend in an SUV. As outlined by the New York Post, a motorcycle cop smelled pot smoke coming from the car and pulled them over. As her personal effects were being searched, she asked the police officer if she could get some lip balm from her purse. At that point, a baggie containing a small amount of cocaine allegedly fell out of her handbag. There were wrapping papers, the kind one could presumably roll joints with, in her purse as well. That’s when she was collared. The Paris Hilton cocaine saga started.
These are not flippant crimes
The amount in question was small. The baggie had .8 ounces of cocaine. Possession of cocaine carries felony possession of a controlled substance charges. Cy Waits, her boyfriend and Cheech to her Chong, got off light. He only received a DUI, which is a misdemeanor. Hilton denied that the baggie belonged to her. True to form, she Tweeted about it. Also true to form, her supporters Tweeted their support for her. There’s an off chance the search was improper, and Hilton’s attorney may contest it at trial. If convicted, she stands to serve up to 15 years and up to $500,000 in fines.
We often hear the line, it’s not mine
The socialite and heiress is no stranger to being arrested for harmful drugs. It is her 3rd in as numerous months. She was arrested in South Africa after the 2010 World Cup and later in Corsica for possessing marijuana. Both times she was released. However, the belief that she keeps getting busted for drugs counts against her. A judge is more likely to throw the book at her if she appears to have a history of illegal drug use.
